Regensburg Danube Region
Day 1 Arrival Regensburg city tour
Our journey takes us from Pongau – Pinzgau past Leogang to Tyrol to Lake Walchsee. Here we take a short breakfast break. We continue past Rosenheim and Wasserburg am Inn to Landshut.
We will have lunch in this beautiful city located on the Isar River. Our next stage of the day
takes us directly to Regensburg to our ****Hotel Held. In the afternoon, we explore the medieval old town, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, during a guided city tour. Afterwards
you will have enough time for a leisurely stroll through the city before our bus takes us back to the hotel for dinner together.
Day 2 Hall of Liberation Kehlheim, Weltenburg Abbey Rosenburg Castle
After a hearty breakfast, we travel by coach to Kehlheim today. From there, we continue by boat through the Danube Gorge to Weltenburg Abbey. Rock formations up to 80 meters high, rising steeply from the water, line the way through the Weltenburger Enge nature reserve to Weltenburg Abbey – one of the most beautiful and spectacular river landscapes in Bavaria. You will experience a church tour followed by a snack at the oldest monastery brewery in the world. Afterwards, we continue by bus to Riedenburg, where we visit Rosenburg Castle and attend a falconry show. On the way back, we stop again in Kehlheim and visit the Hall of Liberation, a monument on the Michelsberg above the city. After an eventful day, we return to Regensburg. Cozy dinner at the hotel.
Day 3 Return journey
Today, after a leisurely breakfast, we start our journey home. We drive via Straubing
past Landau to Mühldorf am Inn. Here we spend our lunch break. We continue
to Lake Chiemsee. There, at the so-called Bavarian Sea, we take a longer break. The last
stage of our journey takes us past Traunstein – Inzell back to Pinzgau and Pongau.
